a stormy calm.

since moving to the east coast, chris and i have had the opportunity to go back to pennsylvania several times to visit family; there's something about the soft rolling hills and wide expanses of farmland that i didn't think i'd enjoy but now can't seem to shake.  i'm loving the stark quality of these photos by michael graydon.  there's something about the richness of the earth and home set against such an ominous grey sky that i love, reminds me of that thickness in the air before a big rainfall, the literal calm before the storm.
