one thing i'm fanatical about presently (patterned pants) but something different i love about each style from sessun - the hunter green suede boots at top and the bomber jacket at bottom. such an unexpected pop of color for otherwise classic suede boots, and loving the slight nod to the varsity jackets of the 90s with that slightly stand-up knit collar and contrasting snap buttons. it's the little things.

on attitudes.

casually browsing the sartorialist just now, i came across a quote from scott schuman in speaking about anna dello russo i couldn't help but share:

"Anna lacks the blasé gene, which is refreshing for a fashion icon."

simple words (that easily extend beyond the world of fashion), but words to live by.

hands down my favorite shop, maryam nassir zadeh is in the middle of their summer sale and there's some pretty good stuff up for grabs at some pretty steep discounts - a few of my favorites are above.  even though it's been way too hot in the city lately to wear anything pants, fancy pants are my favorite kind of pants to wear - how amazing is that pair from christophe lemaire above?  see & shop the rest of the sale here.

expletives, expletives, expletives, i'll spare you all the expletives i'm mentally shouting in my head at the sight of ilana's new SS12 collection, but dayum gina!  girl is killin' it this season.  her first textile release on ofakind, now these amazing pieces for her upcoming collection, and this is still without the jewelry she's also working on!  pieces won't be available till mid-june but i'm putting in an order as soon as humanly possible for that daryl shirt.  i had put a moratorium on spending anything for the next month, but...um...uh...priorities?  nice try.

how great is this photo?  i was never fully convinced by the romper pandemic that started early 2009, but i think it might be worth it now to at least investigate.  love the crisp simplicity of the one piece white broken up by the camel saddle belt and pointed flats.

Alexander McQueen found dead in his London home at age 40.

as the start of fashion week stirs the streets of manhattan, there is palpable gloom in the air as the news of the loss of one of ourgeneration’s great designers absorbs into his many devotees. his death is suspected as a suicide, and while unconfirmed, the circumstances surrounding are not deemed as suspicious. truly sad.
